'Fire' is his first new production in 18 months, and it's been well worth the wait. Known as the pioneer of trance music, Ferry's looked back for inspiration and turned it on its head, given it a hefty dose of electronic fizzle, and sent it out onto the dancefloor. He's taken Simon Le Bon's vocal, and the melody/riff from Duran Duran's 'Serious', first released in 1990 and worked it into a whirring, anthemic slice of synth-infused electro-house.
The recent chorus that met a handful of 'Fire' promos got tongues wagging, and DJs hunting for copies, some even charting it without actually having had one - that goes some way in telling you how big this record is going to be. Already a favourite on Radio 1's dance shows, it's being hammered across the UK, Europe, America, and beyond - this is truly global dance music.
To hear a sample of this track you can visit the Positiva Records where you can also pre-order the digital download. The video, which features original footage of Simon from the promo for "Serious" that has been added to MTV Dance can also be viewed here too.
