I dont know much about Duran Duran but anyways I was watching Barbarella and there was a guy named Duran Duran and he was the wicked bastard that Hottie Jane Fonda was looking for.

Is this where they got their name?? From Barbarella?

        I know somebody on this tribe has more info on exactly why they chose that name. Maybe they thought is sounded cool.

          This may be Urban Legend, but I remember hearing somewhere that John Taylor was watching Barbarella and asked his mom what she thought of the name Duran Duran? She said it was the stupidest name she had ever heard for a band. So John - all teenage-rebellion like (never trust anyone over thirty, blah blah blah) was all "thanks, Ma! You just settled it!"

          I have no idea where I heard that.
