Duran Duran: Live From London
First live concert DVD to be released with the five
original re-united band members Taylor, Taylor, Taylor, Rhodes, LeBon Simultaneous Fall/Autumn release now set by Coming Home Studios for both a special deluxe 2-Disc package and a spectacular single DVD disc.
UK Release Date: November 7, 2005
European Release Date (excluding UK): October 31, 2005
North American Release Date: October 25, 2005
Coming Home Studios and SRS Labs will release the long-awaited live DVD from premiere rock group, Duran Duran, capturing the last two shows from the band's record-breaking 2004 run of sold-out concerts at London's Wembley Arena.
Set for simultaneous release in both single and double-disc editions, 'Duran Duran: Live From London', captures the original 'Fab Five': Simon LeBon (vocals), Andy Taylor (guitars), John Taylor (bass), Roger Taylor (drums) and Nick Rhodes (keyboards), during their spectacular seventeen-date, 2004 UK arena tour. Marking the first shows to be recorded since the original line-up of Duran Duran got back together in 2001, this upcoming release will feature all of the hits from their twenty five year catalogue, together with live versions of some of the chart-topping singles from their most recent (2004) Epic Records' studio album, 'Astronaut'.
Directed by award-winning film-maker, Lawrence Jordan, for Coming Home Studios, in conjunction with Done & Dusted UK, and shot with fourteen state-of-the-art, 1080 24p high-definition cameras, this unique concert DVD, with its film-like visuals, captures the magic, excitement, and pure adrenaline of the band's final two Wembley concerts on April 30 and May 1, 2004. Playing like they never have before, in a blistering two hour set, the DVD shows the band at their very best, performing their biggest hits including: Girls On Film, Planet Earth, Hungry Like The Wolf, Save A Prayer, A View To A Kill, Wild Boys, Ordinary World, The Reflex, Union of the Snake and Rio. The deluxe two-disc set will also include a 10-track live bonus CD.
With audio mixed by Jeremy Wheatley and presented in SRS Labs Circle Surround®, 5.1 dts, 5.1 Multichannel, and stereo, the sound quality of this upcoming DVD will recreate the true concert experience from those two magical nights in London, giving fans the feeling that they are at the show - from the comfort of their own homes.
Both packages also include a highly entertaining, behind-the-scenes documentary, directed by Gavin Elder, rare and candid interview footage, a photo gallery, and a unique audio-track voice-over by all five of the band members - talking about the songs and the show.
In addition, the special, deluxe two-disc set includes one song that can be watched in 3D (3D glasses included), together with a 12 page booklet, unique packaging and the live album.

Re: Live from London DVD
Tue, November 1, 2005 - 11:31 PMI got to see the screening for this tonight here in San Francisco. It's definitiely an item to add to every Duran Duran fan's collection! The sound is fabulous, and they show a lot of shots and angles that aren't on the DVD that came with the collector's edition of Astronaut. Went out and bought the DVD deluxe edition right after. This DVD makes you want to have the big screen and the surround sound to go with it! If only I could afford all that! Hehe!!! -

Re: Live from London DVD
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 12:16 AMoh COOL! How much was it by the way? Oh and you forgot to add how we got JIPPED out of the 3-D song and the INTRO! bastards! it was fucking fabulous though, seeing it on the big screen! almost like being at the concert! -
-
Re: Live from London DVD
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 8:14 AMThat's true. We got jipped out of the special 3-D version of "I Don't Want Your Love" and the special intro at the screening. The song is on the DVD and they provide you with 3-D glasses in the DVD case.
It did feel like you were at the show with the big screen and the HD sound!
I got the Deluxe DVD at Virgin for $22.99. Amazon had it for like 50 cents cheaper. -

Re: Live from London DVD
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 10:26 AMTo bad it wasn't on the IMAX screen. Seeing the film on a BIG screen like that would have been way cool! But I really enjoyed the screening, Bummer about the special intro and the video. But I had a great time singing to all the songs.
There was this one woman that was just way into it and she made it feel like I was at the show, With all the danceing and yelling. Boy it was a great time. -

This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: Live from London DVD
Wed, November 2, 2005 - 10:51 AMHey recognize you! You were sitting a few seats away from me!
Yeah, I agree, it would've been pretty damned cool if it was on the IMAX screen!
Yeah, there were a few ladies that were very into it. It almost did seem like we all were really at the show. Hehe!
Good times...good times. :)
